We’ve surpassed the $1 million dollar mark in less than a month since launch, all thanks to you. To celebrate this achievement, we got you a little something...
You’ve surprised us!
We knew a digital platform giving access to shares in US-listed companies and ETFs would be popular with savvy Kiwi investors, but we didn’t dream it would be this popular. We weren’t expecting you to invest more than $1 million NZD already. Hatch is the only platform of its kind in NZ that allows you to buy fractions of shares, and a lot of you are using fractional investing to buy high-priced (aka unaffordable) company shares. Surpassing $1 million in investments in just four weeks after launch shows that we truly are filling a serious gap in the market. We’re chuffed! And we’re celebrating.
Say hello to lower FX fees
Fees are the worst. We heard you loud and clear, so we’re lowering them. That’s right, we’re taking our foreign exchange fee from 0.8% to 0.5% this week. Why? Because you asked for it, but we also want to make it as easy as possible for Kiwis to regularly invest in the global share markets. We’re good like that.
No barriers to investing through Hatch
The proof is in the pudding. Reaching over $1 million in investments in just a month proves that our FX fees weren’t much of a barrier to our investors. But we knew we could make Hatch that much better by dropping the fees to make it easier for customers to use Hatch how they want to.
Did someone say rebate?
Yup, we did. We’re giving our customers a rebate of 0.3% of all the money they’ve deposited with us to date. Customers will receive a deposit into their Hatch accounts over the next few days, so keep an eye out. Here’s how it works: if you've deposited $700 in your Hatch account, you'll get $2.10. If you’re a baller and you've deposited $70k, you'll get $210. Easy.
At Hatch, we’re transforming the way Kiwis access world-class investments. Giving Kiwis easy access to US share markets is just the beginning. We're working on plans to offer more investment opportunities and better financial services to make all New Zealanders better off.
Thanks for being a part of it. Now, go tell your friends.
