Miss

Māori translation:
Definition

A miss is when a company reports earnings results that are below analysts’ expectations. A company can miss expectations on measures such as revenue, profit or earnings per share (EPS). For example, if analysts expect revenue of US$10 billion and the company reports US$9.5 billion, it has missed revenue expectations.A miss doesn’t necessarily mean the company is losing money or performing poorly. It simply means the reported result was lower than investors and analysts expected.
