Volume
Volume refers to the number of shares, units, or contracts that are bought and sold over a given period. It is often used as a measure of market activity and investor interest in a particular investment. Higher trading volume generally means more buyers and sellers are actively trading, while lower volume may indicate less market participation. Investors often look at volume alongside price movements, as strong volume can suggest confidence in a price trend. Volume does not indicate whether an investment will rise or fall in value, but it can provide useful insight into market behaviour and liquidity.
