A bit about me
I'm the Founder of Mark4Explorations, known as m4x, an information science and tech consultancy. When I'm not practising my downward dog in yoga class, I'm perfecting my martial arts skills, reading, travelling, or working on creative projects. I like sketching, soap carving, and um, building an interactive bathroom mirror. I'm not kidding. But the most fun I have is when I'm investing.
My goals right now are to scale my consultancy and come up with new creative projects. I'd love to be more like the people I admire most in life, my parents and grandparents. That might sound cliche, but both made a lot of sacrifices to make life better for their families. I like making money, but my relationships (and my cat) are the most important things in my life.
Why I'm keen on Hatch
I signed up to Hatch to get exposure to the US market and my Core-Satellite strategy. Yup, that's a thing, I didn't make it up. Core-Satellite investing is a method of putting together an investment portfolio that is designed to outperform the stock market as a whole. It's designed to minimise costs (by using largely passive funds), tax liability, and volatility (by actively managing a small portion). It helps me with discipline and keeps me away from messing around with my investments too much. With Hatch, I'm in leveraged ETFs like Ultra ProShares Nasdaq-100 TQQQ, Direxion's 20 year Treasury TMF, and Direxion's Inverse Gold NUGT.
My best investment tips
Ok, I've got a few tips: read up on companies, listen to good advice (but analyse it too!), and meditate on your decisions before acting on them. I'm known for thinking outside the box, but I'm less risky when it comes to my investment decisions.
